EMERGENCY DENTAL CARE
Nobody should have to suffer any longer than necessary. That’s why we always have someone available to see you ASAP. Dr Sethu has worked in acute dental care in one of London’s top dental hospitals, so he’s a dab hand at diagnosing and managing discomfort. At Quintidental we do our best to get you in the same day if possible when you are experiencing pain or discomfort, or at worse within a few days. Even out of hours emergency appointments can be arranged to try to get patients out of pain or fix broken teeth. We prioritise appointments for our regular patients but welcome new patients who need emergency dental treatment such as those who have broken or painful teeth or abscesses and do our best to accommodate .

NERVOUS PATIENTS
Many people are fine having dental treatment but to a lot of people it can still be a daunting experience . It is not uncommon at Quintidental that we see new patients who are really scared either because of a bad experience with a previous dentist many years ago or they just haven’t been much to a dentist for many years and they worry that they will need lots doing and keep putting it off . We try to understand why this has Happened and what we can do about it. Using numbing gels and a gentle touch we try to make the treatment as pain free as possible . Often people come in after many years and it isn’t as bad as they anticipate and often they just need one or two appointments to get their dental health back to scratch again and healthy .
Sometimes new patients come in and say they feel embarrassed about their teeth but please rest assured that no one will be judged and there’s not a lot we haven’t seen. With around 70 years clinical experience between us we can treat you in a warm ,caring environment.
TEETH CLEANING
Do you have teeth that look discoloured and stained ? Often this can be caused by coffee/ tea amongst other things. The build up of tartar (calculus) is the hard white chunks of bacteria that also can build up on the teeth. It can be removed in a comfortable and safe environment here at Quintidental. We use the latest technology of ultrasonic scalers and also air flow to carefully remove any germs and then get rid of Stain with special jet washing devices. The teeth can then be polished with polishing pastes to give a sparking finish. The teeth usually feel nice and fresh after this has been done.

These are painless and can be done in a few simple sessions. Patients often ask if whitening will make their teeth look artificially white- the simple answer is “no”- as it’s done in a controlled manner we can stop when we feel you have reached a good level or carry on for longer if need be to achieve the desired result.
DENTAL IMPLANTS
Dental Implants are used to replace missing teeth. They are independent of any other teeth so don’t put forces on neighbouring teeth like conventional techniques (bridges and dentures). They are fixed in permanently. Dr Sethu has carried out a 2 year diploma in implant surgery with the prestigious Eastman dental institute and has much experience in this field of dentistry.
SPORTS MOUTHGUARDS
Popular with children who do sports especially at the start of the school year. Most schools require children of seven and over to wear mouthguards. We’ll just take a mould and deliver it to you in about two weeks. “Team Colours? Not a Problem.”
TOOTH COLOURED FILLINGS
Your smile is important to us, that’s why we try to use white fillings whenever it is suitable using the latest resin technology and high strength ceramics. Often a filling can be done so that it is barely visible to the naked eye. Sometimes people have old black/ silver fillings that have been there many years and are leaking, these can be replaced if clinically necessary.
ROOT CANAL TREATMENT
Root canal treatment, also known as endodontic treatment, is a dental procedure that is typically performed to treat a damaged or infected tooth. The procedure involves removing the damaged or infected pulp tissue from the centre of the tooth, which contains nerves and blood vessels, and cleaning and disinfecting the tooth's root canals. Dr Rasool carries out straightening of the teeth with clear aligners. It involves wearing a number of successive trays until the desired position of the teeth is reached. It can be a good way to carry out simple tooth movements so the teeth look more aligned and give a nicer smile. An initial consultation with Dr Rasool would see if you are suitable and provide a treatment plan. This type of treatment can take a few months depending on the complexity of the case.

COMPOSITE BONDING
Composite bonding is the use of the latest composite resin technology to restore teeth and make them look better. It can be used to close gaps between teeth, or fix chipped teeth that don’t look even. Often it can be done without even having to anaesthetise ( numb up) a tooth.
FLUORIDE TREATMENT
Application of fluoride varnish has been recommended especially for children by the British society of paediatric dentistry and also the British dental association to prevent decay. It has also shown to help prevent decay in adults and help with sensitivity of teeth due to gum recession. Sometimes if there is an early area of tooth decay by applying fluoride varnish it can stop the decay getting worse and in some cases even stop the decay altogether - which can mean avoiding the need for a filling.

CROWNS
A dental crown, also known as a "cap," is a type of dental restoration that is placed over a damaged or weakened tooth to restore its shape, size, and strength, as well as to improve its appearance. A crown is typically recommended when a tooth is severely decayed, cracked, or fractured, or has undergone a root canal treatment. The crown is custom-made to fit over the remaining tooth structure, covering the entire visible portion of the tooth above the gum line. Crowns can be made from a variety of materials, such as porcelain, metal, or a combination of both, and can be designed to match the color and shape of the patient's natural teeth. In addition to restoring the function and appearance of a damaged tooth. A crown can also help protect it from further damage and decay. The process of getting a crown typically involves two appointments, with the first appointment involving preparation of the tooth and taking impressions, and the second appointment involving placement of the final crown. At Quintidental we have technicians very close by to us so if a colour needs to be matched we can send you to the lab so the crown looks as natural as possible.
